Blantyre, 15th May 2009.  BioFilm Ltd, Europe’s leading producer of thin film products for use in the neutraceutical, cosmeceutical and consumer healthcare sectors, today officially opens its new 4,000 sq ft, medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at its headquarters at Blantyre, near Glasgow, Scotland.

Representing a significant upfront investment of over £1 million, the new facility (known as a Clean Room) enables fast dissolving film products to be developed which need specialised, highly regulated conditions of manufacture and packaging. It consolidates BioFilm’s position at the leading edge of the growing global soluble and dissolvable thin film technology.

The facility has also been equipped with a state-of-the-art single film sachet production line - the first of its type in Europe - allowing BioFilm’s clients to offer single unit dosage which will meet forthcoming regulatory requirements for the delivery of pharmaceuticals in fast-dissolving film format.
