Thin films were originally developed as flavour delivery systems.  Intense flavours and great mouth feel led to commercial success for these products.  Whilst peppermint, spearmint, lemon and fruit flavours are the base products in our range, many other flavours are also available.

BioFilm produces a range of oral care products designed to improve oral health.  We also manufacture a range of products which provide effective, long-lasting breath freshening.  Thin film technology is well suited to the oral care sector due to the rapid mouth solubility.  In addition to the items below, further products under development include those for mouth ulcers, gum disease and plaque reduction where the film former can be manipulated so that it dissolves slowly and releases the active ingredient over a longer period of time directly on to the teeth or gums.

BioFilm has introduced into Europe a range of films for cosmetic and toiletries application.  This is a new market application and considerable interest has been expressed from a number of companies who are looking at this innovative, new delivery system.

BioFilm are pioneers in Europe having successfully developed two devices for brand partners.  These were both unique products and first in their category on world markets.  In addition, BioFilm is working with a number of European companies to develop a range of products for the consumer medical device market.

BioFilm aims to be at the forefront of new developments in the global wound care market. Our range of film technologies is well suited to the manufacture of advanced wound care and haemostasis applications designed to aid the healing process. These novel films can be specifically developed for use in a number of wound conditions from minor First Aid situations through to complex surgical procedures.
