Jim Reid BA (Hons), DipM, MCIM
Non-executive Director Jim Reid was appointed a Non-executive Director of BioFilm in 2010. He has spent his career in the international biotech and pharmaceutical industries with Hoffman la Roche, Chiron and Organon moving from the research bench to business management. Since returning to Scotland in 1999 to join the Board of Axis Shield plc, Jim has been instrumental in the formation and development of several Scottish-based life science companies. In 2007, he oversaw the successful sale of one of them, Haptogen to Wyeth, one of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies. In 2010, he won the Outstanding Contribution to Life Sciences at the annual Scottish Enterprise Awards. In 2005, he was the winner of the Ernst & Young UK Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Science & Technology. In addition to BioFilm, Jim is a Non-executive Director of Ocutec and Lumora Ltd and is currently Chairman and CEO of Sistemic Ltd.
